Thanks to your generosity this past holiday season, we surpassed our match from Ace Hardware and an anonymous donor to support even more patients and families at Children’s National! Together, we are providing world-class care for children and accelerating research that leads to new treatments and cures.

Your compassion brought hope, healing and holiday magic to the hospital. When you donated, Dr. Bear shined to show our patients how much we care.

 

You made it possible for families like Odessa’s to be healthy and celebrate together. Her daughter, Anelys, spent her first year in the hospital due to serious complications from premature birth. 

 

Last year, a social worker ensured her sisters could finally meet her and celebrate their first Christmas together. This year, expert care meant Anelys could spend the holidays at home with her whole family.

 

“Doctors, nurses and staff at Children’s National fought hard for my daughter,” Odessa said. “They listened. They included me in her care and respected my feelings. They gave us so much ― most of all, the gift of life for her and peace for my family. I have deep and profound gratitude. I owe them everything.”
